The Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology would like to inform the community that procedural minimums have now been set for gynecologic oncology fellowships. The Accreditation Data System (ADS) will be updated by August 1, 2025, and the new minimums will be in effect immediately. However, the new procedural minimums will not be enforced until review of the 2027 graduate data to give programs time to acclimate. While it is not anticipated that programs will have difficulty meeting the new minimums, any challenges should be addressed in the Major Changes and Other Updates section of the ADS Annual Update.
After August 1, 2025, programs are advised to review the updated Case Log Instructions: Gynecologic Oncology document, available on the Documents and Resources page of the Obstetrics and Gynecology section of the ACGME website.

  • July 2025 graduates (current PGY-5 residents) – Review Committee will not cite programs for missed graduating resident minimums.
  • July 2026 graduates (current PGY-4 residents) – Review Committee will not cite programs for missed graduating resident minimums but may issue AFIs at its January 2027 Review Committee meeting.
  • July 2027 graduates (current PGY-3 residents) – Review Committee will begin issuing citations for missed minimums to programs at the January 2028 Review Committee meeting.
Since January, the Review Committee has made several corrections to CPT codes based on feedback from programs and residents. Examining Resident Burnout Through the Lens of Self-Determination Theory: The Role of General Causality Orientations
Adam Neufeld, MSc, MD, CCFP; Greg Malin, MD, PhD; Oksana Babenko, PhD; Cesar Orsini, BDS, MEd, SFHEA, RETF, DHPE
Burnout continues to plague GME, and theory-informed approaches are needed. In Self-Determination Theory, general causality orientations—autonomy, control, and impersonal—represent individual differences in self-determination that can be socialized and primed within environments. The authors of this study investigated how general causality orientation relates to resident burnout.
