Last week, Dr. Nasca, ACGME president and chief executive officer, presented at the American Osteopathic Association's (AOA) annual House of Delegates meeting in Chicago.
He shared information about the successful unification of the accreditation system, including representation of DOs on various ACGME committees, achievement of Osteopathic Recognition by ACGME-accredited programs, and recent changes to Sections I-V of the Common Program Requirements, among other updates. He also answered a few questions from the crowd.
The annual meeting brings together more than 500 osteopathic physicians and medical students to hear updates, consider proposed resolutions, and enact AOA policy.
The ACGME, in partnership with the AOA and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, also co-hosted a reception at its Chicago office earlier that week. Attendees included leadership from across the osteopathic community.
