Institutional Requirements NEW!
The CLER Program is seeking up to 10 teams from clinical learning environments (CLEs) of ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions to participate in the pilot cycle of a new improvement network, the CLE Quadruple Aim Initiative. This initiative aims to enhance GME integration into CLE efforts to optimize patient care and advance the Quadruple Aim of simultaneously improving patient outcomes, enhancing patient experience, improving health care practitioner well-being, and reducing cost of care.
Selected teams will learn from one another by participating in joint learning sessions while engaging in a 15-month clinical quality improvement project of strategic priority to their clinical site. The application deadline is October 18, 2024.

These one-hour Zoom calls will take place on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Central and are open to the entire GME community. During these sessions, participants will provide information about efforts in GME and MUA/P, solve for common challenges, and share helpful resources. GME institution and program leaders will connect with peers and ACGME representatives in large group discussion and Q and A with the speakers.
The ACGME's Clinician Educator Journal Club is a monthly online meeting on the third Thursday of each month gathering together current and future clinician educators, authors, and ACGME staff members to discuss the latest journal articles and timely topics in medical education. The ACGME and Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation have a partnership to present the Catalyst Awards for Transformation in Graduate Medical Education. For this cycle, selected projects will receive up to $100,000 over 18 months. Successful proposals will design, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies to equip learners with tools, skills, and approaches to help them thrive in the clinical learning environment.

The ACGME is pleased to welcome DIOs and other GME leaders for two days of learning and collaboration to support improvement and innovation in Sponsoring Institutions and clinical learning environments for GME. The Institutional Review Committee (IRC) requests feedback on the proposed major revision to the Institutional Requirements.
The IRC has developed Institutional Requirements that represent the continuing evolution of the Sponsoring Institution, its programs, and its relationship to clinical learning environments for resident and fellow education. To develop durable requirements through 2035 and beyond, the IRC has participated in an intensive period of discovery, collaboration, and reflection to simplify and build upon its minimum standards for Sponsoring Institutions, and welcomes additional feedback from all individuals and organizations that wish to provide comments.
For the first time, the IRC has included Background and Intent statements to introduce some of the new requirements. The Impact Statement offers additional context and proposed timelines for implementation. In order to provide enhanced opportunities for feedback and engagement among GME stakeholders, the IRC plans to offer two 45-day review and comment periods.
